The Newark Wildcat baseball program is excited to welcome NHS graduate and Major League Baseball pitcher Derek Holland back again for the fourth annual baseball clinic on Thursday, Dec. 21, in the Newark High School Auxiliary Gym. The clinic costs $40 and is limited to the first 50 campers per session. Every month, Newark City Schools honors 28 students from across the district in grades 4-12 as Citizens of the Month, for their performance inside and outside of the classroom. This month's lunch was sponsored by Licking Memorial Health Systems. The awards are given to 14 teachers across the county every year, and include a $500 yearly grant opportunity.
