Teachers win Licking County Leaders for Learning Awards
Three Newark City Schools teachers received Leaders for Learning Awards from the Licking County Foundation today. The awards are given to 14 teachers across the county every year, and include a $500 yearly grant opportunity. Congratulations to NHS Math Teacher Chris Haren, Heritage science teacher Ashley Schultz and McGuffey Elementary 1st grade teacher Lori Schultz on receiving the awards.  Read More...

Every month, Newark City Schools honors about 28 students from grades 4 through 12 in every school as our Citizens of the Month. Students are chosen for what they do both inside and outside of the classroom. Also every month, a different group from one of our schools performs for students and their families. The regular Board of Education meeting for October will be held the third Monday this month instead of the second Monday. The Newark Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 at the district Administrative Service Center, the former Roosevelt Middle School. 5th Annual Newark Bands Craft Bazaar Set for Nov. 4
The fifth annual Pride of Newark Bands Craft Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 4, in the NHS Auxiliary Gym, 314 Granville Street. Vendors will include handmade crafts, Avon, Scentsy, Tupperware, LulaRoe and more. Admission is $1. Vendors are still being accepted. Space rental is $30, and vendors must have their own table.
