The Newark High School graduation ceremony has been moved up to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, at White Field due to the current weather forecast. If anything is changed, we will announce it via a phone call, social media, local media and the website.

NHS Literary Magazine, Athenaeum, available now
The first edition of Athenaeum: The Newark High School Literary Magazine has been released, and is available for download here. The magazine has been led by student leaders and faculty advisor P.R. West. Athenaeum features poetry, essays, short stories, drama and artwork, each submitted by Newark High School students. Student staff members included: Madalyn Boucher, Sarina Lannan, Allison Nixon, Ayden Felix, Skylar Grimsley, Gaige Treadwell, Emma Vogelmeier, Kaitlyn Whipkey, and Miranda Woodgeard. Bethany Garrison was editor-in-chief.  
McGuffey Carnival raises $4,600 for Taylor Gartner's family
Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered and supported the McGuffey Elementary Carnival fundraiser for Taylor Gartner. Through the community's support, we raised $4,627 for Taylor's fund, to help with ongoing expenses. 
2015 Summer Food Service Sites
Summer is coming soon. You may be thinking about what your child will do for meals while school is out. The good news is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has partnered in your local community with agencies to serve free meals. It’s food that’s in, while school is out. There are no income requirements, and any child under the age of 18 may come to eat. Here is the information about the local summer food sites. 
Where is the Class of 2015 headed?
Newark High School's graduation is rapidly approaching for more than 300 high school seniors. Many of them are headed off to some form of post-secondary education or into the military, going as far west as the Air Force Academy in Colorado, east to Pace University in New York City, north to Eastern Michigan University and south to the University of Miami in Florida, and many places in between. Tom Bowman recommended to be next Newark High School Principal
Tom Bowman has been recommended as the next Newark High School Principal, Newark City Schools Superintendent Doug Ute announced on Tuesday. Mr. Bowman’s appointment will be voted on by the Board of Education during the next meeting, currently scheduled for June 8.

Mr. Bowman has been an assistant principal at Newark High School for the past 11 years, and taught at the school for seven years prior. He lives in Newark with his wife and daughters, one who is in high school and one who is in middle school.
