Eat Chipotle and support NHS soccer on Oct. 17 and Oct. 19
The Newark Wildcat Girls and Boys soccer teams are hosting fundraisers at Chipotle on 21st Street on Monday, Oct. 17, and Wednesday, Oct. 19. To support the girls team, please show this flyer at the restaurant on Oct. 17; then on Oct. 19, show this flyer to support the boys team. 
Orchestra hosts spaghetti dinner on Oct. 13
The Newark Orchestra Program is hosting its annual spaghetti dinner and concert from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 13, in the NHS Commons and Auditorium. Dinner will be served in the Commons from 6 to 8:30, while performances will be in the auditorium from 6 to 9. Tickets are $10 for adult dinner and concert; $8 for student dinner and concert; and $5 for concert-only. The concert schedule is as follows: 6 p.m.: 6th grade; 6:30: 7th graders; 7: 8th graders; 7:30: Prelude Orchestra (9th grade); 8: String Orchestra; 8:30: Sinfonia Orchestra. 
District to stream volleyball live tonight
Newark City Schools is now live streaming select events online through YouTube. Currently the district is showing volleyball matches, board meetings and Citizen of the Month lunches. Home volleyball games against Franklin Heights at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Big Walnut at 7 p.m. Thursday will be broadcast. NHS Bowling to host golf outing on Oct. 2
The Newark High School Bowling Team is hosting a 4-person scramble golf outing at 9 a.m. on Sun., Oct. 2, at Kyber Run Golf Course in Johnstown. The outing costs $60 per person or $240 per team, which includes green fees, cart, food and door prizes. Newark High School is participating in the McDonald’s High School Team Challenge, courtesy of McDonald’s restaurants of Central Ohio and NBC4. You can help NHS got the chance to win up to $10,000! The school in our division with the most votes at the end of the competition wins, and again this year, second and third place schools also win! Visit highschoolteamchallenge.com every day to cast your vote for Newark High School. Voting runs through October 28. 
PACE and Power of Positive Parenting host discussion group on Oct. 18
Parents Advocating for Children with Exceptional Abilities (PACE) is hosting a discussion group from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at The Roosevelt Building, 621 Mount Vernon Road. The group will discuss "Dealing with Disobedience" and how to deal with disobedience when it happens. There will be free pizza and free childcare for children under 10.
