Substitute nurses
Although we have several substitute health aides in on our call list, we are desperately seeking a few RNs who are available to sub for the district nurses. This would require a current nursing license and the ability to provide required services to students in pre-kindergarten to grade 12, including tube feeding, administration of diastat (gel or nasal), catheterization, and other medical tasks as needed. Bus Drivers:
The Newark City School District is interested in filling several openings for Substitute and Regularly employed School Bus Drivers. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with a School Bus Endorsement. The Newark City School District will provide (at the District’s Expense) all training for otherwise qualified persons. Starting pay is $13.87 per hour. Hourly pay does not commence until the applicant is fully credentialed. For the Safety of our Students, School Bus Drivers are subject to paid annual physicals and paid random drug and alcohol screenings.
An excellent benefits package including health insurance and sick leave is available to applicants hired as Regularly Employed School Bus Drivers. Preference will be given to candidates that currently hold all the appropriate credentials to drive a School Bus.
