College Preparatory English 9 is the English class offered to all incoming freshman at Newark High School. It is a challenging course that will offer up a variety of reading genres, writing genres and thematic units geared to help prepare your students for the rest of their high school experience and to help prepare them for the OGT during the spring of their sophomore year. In order to reach the diverse population found in each classroom, a differentiated approach to instruction will be used. Simply stated, this means that a variety of teaching methods will be used, students will have choice when it comes to certain assignments and we will explore their learning styles and interests to better target their strengths in the classroom. |
