Tom Bowman has been recommended as the next Newark High School Principal, Newark City Schools Superintendent Doug Ute announced on Tuesday. Mr. Bowman’s appointment will be voted on by the Board of Education during the next meeting, currently scheduled for June 8.
Mr. Bowman has been an assistant principal at Newark High School for the past 11 years, and taught at the school for seven years prior. He lives in Newark with his wife and daughters, one who is in high school and one who is in middle school.
Current Newark High School Principal Mark Fullen, who has been principal at the high school since 2008. Mr. Fullen is retiring at the end of the school year.
