Families to receive free smart thermometers to help stop spread of illness in school
Kinsa Logo
The Newark City School District is excited that we have the opportunity to provide free smart thermometers to elementary school families as part of the Lysol + Kinsa FLUency health program. All families with students at a Newark elementary school can receive free Kinsa Smart Thermometers, valued at $19.99 retail. Families will also be able to see aggregated, anonymous information on any symptoms and illnesses going around the school.

In order to sign up for the program, parents can download the Kinsa Smart Thermometer app on their phones, create a profile and join their child's school. This will enroll them into the program. This must be completed by Oct. 19, 2018, in order to receive the free thermometers. The thermometers should be available near the end of October.

The app will help the district to keep track of illness trends, with the goal of keeping students safe and healthy, and ultimately increasing student attendance.

The FLUency program, now in its 4th year, has already helped over 60,000 families, and 90 percent of participating school nurses believe FLUency kept them more informed of illnesses going around their school. Click here to see a video of FLUency in action.
