LCCH provides a wide variety of housing services to homeless and low-income members of our Licking County Community. LCCH now operates over 40 units of Transitional Housing for homeless families and individuals - serving nearly 80 households (including more than 100 homeless children) every year. The Center for New Beginnings Shelter & Services provides a safe place for women and their children as they seek freedom from domestic violence. Salvation Army:
The Salvation Army in Newark is dedicated to serving the men, women, and children who are at-risk and in need of financial, social service, and spiritual support. We work everyday to elevate individuals up from despair to provide hope and assistance. The 2-1-1 Crisis/Hotline and Information Center of Pathways of Central Ohio offers confidential 24-hour, 7-day- a-week telephone crisis services for issues involving mental health, suicide, alcohol and drug use/abuse, and intellectual disabilities. Information and referral services include assistance in linking callers with resources such as temporary housing, financial help, medical care, counseling, victim assistance, domestic violence resources, suicide prevention, and resources for senior citizens. The center also is the main point of contact for community emergencies or disasters, sponsors a Recovery Line for persons recovering from mental illness, and provides after-hours coverage for many Licking and Knox County social service agencies.
