Position: Intervention Specialist – Mild - Moderate at Newark High School

Applicant must:
● Possess a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped Licensed/Certificate with SLD, CD validation (candidates with multiple special education validations preferred) or Intervention Specialist: Mild-Moderate
● Be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student
● Demonstrate the ability to identify individual student needs
● Complete all IEPs and ETRs to remain compliant
● Creatively develop and implement integrated and functional activities to teach the contact standards
● Effectively differentiate instruction
● Efficiently use student data to determine individual needs, develop targeted learning plans, and monitor ongoing progress
● Serve students with a variety of handicapping conditions as well as at-risk students within an intervention or inclusion setting
● Effectively plan, design and implement a variety of behavior management strategies
● Possess strong communication and organizational skills
● Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with parents, special and regular education staff, students, related service personnel and community agencies in the delivery of services to students with disabilities
● Be objective, flexible, and have an understanding of students with disabilities.
● Participate in department, building and district professional development opportunities relating to the education of students with disabilities
● Be acceptable to the Building Principal, Director of Student Services & Assistant Superintendent of Certificated/Licensed Personnel
Effective Starting Date: 2026-2027 school year Interested staffmembers must respond in writing to the Personnel Office via hand delivery or e-mail no later than 4:00 p.m. of the last day of the posting. Positions will be posted for 5 working days (3 working days in June and July, 1 working day August 1 to September 1).
