Qualifications/Requirements:
           Applicant must:
 
  • possess a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped certificate/license (candidates with multiple special education validations preferred or Intervention Specialist – Moderate to Intensive)
  • be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student
  • demonstrate the ability to identify individual student needs
  • creatively develop and implement integrated and functional activities to teach the content standards
  • effectively differentiate instruction
  • demonstrate the ability to plan and implement a variety of behavior management strategies
  • demonstrate the ability to efficiently use student data to determine individual needs, develop targeted learning plans, and monitor ongoing progress
  • demonstrate the ability to serve students with a variety of handicapping conditions as well as some at-risk students within an intervention or inclusion setting
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • demonstrate the ability to be objective and flexible
  • participate in building and district professional development opportunities relating to the education of students with disabilities
  • supervise classroom aides and guide their work with students
  • demonstrate the ability to collaborate with parents, special and regular education staff, students, related service personnel, and community agencies in the delivery of services to students with disabilities 
  • display proficiency in assessing student performance and writing IEP goals to address needs
  • be acceptable to the Building Principal, Director of Student Services and Assistant Superintendent of Certificated/Licensed Personnel

Interested staff members must respond in writing to the Personnel Office via hand delivery or e-mail no later than 4:00 p.m. of the last day of the posting.  Positions will be posted for 5 working days (3 working days in June and July, 1 working day August 1 to September 1).
