Position: School Psychologist Assistant

Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant must:
To work directly with the Newark City School Psychologists on an hourly and part time basis for the performance of certain services, namely:
- Under the guidance of the school psychologist, the Psychologist Assistant will support the
process of assessing students for determining eligibility of services under IDEA.
- Academic testing of students
- Written observation of students
- Scheduling of meetings
- Communicating with parents and school staff
- Collecting data and information from teachers, guardians, and other parties
- Completing required paperwork
- No more than 20 hours per week
Qualifications include:
- A master’s degree in psychology, education, speech language pathology, occupational
therapy, social work, counseling, or in a field closely related to the intended use of the
assessment, and formal training in the ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation
of clinical assessments
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong technology skills
- Interpersonal skills working with team members
