McGuffey Elementary was awarded a Silver Award from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Network, in recognition of the school's efforts to provide ongoing behavior support interventions to our students. McGuffey teachers and staff continue to work hard to provide support for each and every student.

Each year, ODE and the PBIS Network recognize schools and districts for the quality and fidelity of PBIS implementation. Schools are eligible to receive awards at the bronze, silver, or gold levels of distinction.

PBIS is a systems change process that requires an ongoing commitment to create effective systems for teaching and addressing behavior and social-emotional skills. The Department and PBIS Network are pleased to recognize schools for their dedication to creating school environments that are positive, predictable, safe, and equitable.
