Newark Cheer Clinic for grades K-6 set for October 13

Newark Cheerleading is hosting a Cheer Clinic for students in kindergarten through 6th grade from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, in the Newark High School gym. The clinic will feature a fun day of learning motions, jumps and cheers with Newark cheerleaders. The cost is $40 per child and includes a T-shirt, pizza, drink and snack. Pre-registration is available by downloading the following form and mailing it in: Mini Cheer Clinic Form. Wildcat Football hosts Rumble for the Cure on October 6

Mark your calendars! Our Wildcat football team is asking fans to GO PINK in honor of breast cancer awareness month and help them Rumble for the Cure on Friday, October 6. To help support this important cause, glow-in-the-dark Rumble for the Cure merchandise is for sale, and proceeds will go directly to the Licking County Health Department’s Screening and Survivor Support for breast cancer patients. The entire Newark City Schools District will support this cause and will also GO PINK on Friday, October 6. We encourage all students and staff to wear your Rumble for the Cure shirts or pink to school and the football game! Homecoming Week Activities for 2023

The Newark High School Homecoming game will kick off at 7 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 29, as the Wildcats host Reynoldsburg. All members of the public are invited to the annual Homecoming Carnival from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 27, at Newark High School; the annual Homecoming Parade steps off at 5:45 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 29, from the High School. This year's student Homecoming Dance is from 8 to 11 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 30.

District Policy prohibits political advertising on property

Advertising for a political candidate or ballot issue is prohibited on school property at any time, including before, during and after an event, per board policy 9700.01. (Click here) This includes passing out materials, displaying signs, setting up tables or wearing any clothing that promotes the candidate or political issue. Any person who is violating this board policy will be asked to hand out the materials off of school property. School events are intended to promote and celebrate the accomplishments of our students, and we do not want political issues to distract from that objective.
