Online Classroom Etiquette and grading

Online classes are going well across the district, and we wanted to share some tips to help make student learning successful for all:

  • Class sessions are recorded for students to review at a later time as-needed. Please assume you are always able to be heard or seen by students and/or the teacher - do not use inappropriate language or dress around the device that is logged into the online classroom;

  • Students should mute their mics when not talking with the teacher, and should wait to be called on;

  • Use headphones with a microphone to help stay focused and cut down on background noise;

  • Eliminate distractions: Turn off the TV and music, put cell phones away, and so-forth;

  • Create a learning space: A dedicated class space at home will help students be focused on learning;

  • Be prepared and on time: Just like attending school in-person, being prepared for class will help everyone be successful

Classes this fall are being graded normally. We are not giving pass/fail or participation grades. We do want all students to learn and be successful. If your student is having difficulty with anything, please reach out to your teacher directly for assistance.
