The course is a combination of classroom instruction for one period in basic academic subjects and employment at a local business. One credit is earned in class and two from the required work experience. The objective is to help the student develop necessary attitudes, skills, and abilities essential to graduate and become an independent and gainfully employed adult. The student is expected to remain employed to get an early release. In accordance with state guidelines, students can only participate in this program for one year. The CBI program uses traditional assessments to evaluate students for the grading period.
