This week's Wildcat athletic schedule
The postseason for Wildcat athletics is in full swing, with basketball, bowling and wrestling continuing this week. The Lady Cats' basketball team faces Zanesville at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lakewood High School; the boys host Westerville Central at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Jimmy Allen Gym. Tickets are $6 for adults or $4 for students for each game. The bowling team bowls at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Palace Lanes. Wrestlers Jamye Randolph and Levi McKee wrestle in districts this Friday and Saturday, with Henry Pham as an alternate. 
Triple P Seminar: Raising Resilient Children
The next Triple P Seminar, Raising Resilient Children, will help attendees learn six important building blocks that help develop life skills to manage emotions. The free seminar is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at the Roosevelt Building, 621 Mount Vernon Road. There will be free pizza and cookies, as well as free child care for children ages 7 and under. Please register by calling 740-670-7060 or email Parent Mentor Ronni Bowyer at rbowyer@laca.org. 
Learn about College Credit Plus on March 3 or 5
College Credit Plus has replaced Ohio's Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program. College Credit Plus allows qualified students in grades 7-12 to take college courses for college and high school credit. There will be informational meetings for College Credit Plus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, and Thursday, March 5, in the Newark High School Auditorium. Please plan to attend one of these meetings if you are interested in exploring your options with College Credit Plus.  
Spring sports meeting set for March 5
The spring sports meeting for baseball, track, softball, boys tennis and middle school track will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, in the Newark High School Commons. The meeting will last about 45 minutes, and all student-athletes who did not play a fall or winter sport must attend, accompanied by a parent or guardian. The following on-line paperwork will be filled out at the meeting: concussion form, handbook review form, and urinalysis consent form. All forms can be found at NHSwildcats.com. 
Wildcat Football 12th Man Golf Outing coming in May
Sign up now for one of the earliest golf outings of the year and support the Newark High School football program on May 3. The NHS Football 12th Man Club Golf Outing is scheduled to tee off at 9 a.m. on May 3 at the Licking Springs Trout Club Golf Course. The outing is a four-person team scramble and costs $65 per person — $240 per foursome — that includes golf, a cart and food. The registration deadline is April 30.
