Dinner and a Concert: Newark Orchestra's Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Oct. 22
The annual Newark Orchestra Spaghetti Dinner and Concert will begin at 6 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 22, in the Newark High School Commons. The evening will feature performances from every middle and high school orchestra in the auditorium. The cost for the evening is: $10 for adult dinner and performance; $8 for student dinner and performance; or $5 for performance only. Please order tickets through any orchestra student, or contact Director Chris Lape at 740-670-7443.

Newark Youth Softball presents Daddy-Daughter Dance
It’s almost time for another special father-daughter night at Newark High School.
The 2015 Daddy-Daughter Dance, presented by Newark Youth Softball, will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the Newark High School Auxiliary Gym. Tickets cost $12 per pair, plus $4 for each additional daughter. All dads, grandpas, uncles and male role models are welcome to attend. Attendees are invited to dress up or dress down. Please contact Heidi Hewitt at 740-405-7198 with questions or to buy tickets in advance.

District Alumni Directory Project Underway
Research for the 2016 edition of the Newark City Schools Alumni Directory Project is ongoing, as postcards were recently mailed to district alumni. The district is working with Harris Connect, who will produce the Alumni Directory at no cost to the district. If you have not received a postcard and would like to include your information in the directory, please contact Harris Connect at 1-866-923-4936. 
Help Wildcat kicker Jed Quackenbush Kick-It to Cancer
Help Wildcat kicker Jed Quackenbush “Kick-It” to Cancer through kick-it.org, where you can pledge to donate either a fixed dollar amount, or base your donation on points scored. You can visit this link to go straight to Quackenbush’s donation page, or search his name from the main kick-it.org page. In the first two weeks of the season, Quackenbush went 4-for-4 in field goal attempts and also made an extra point to net 13 points so far. His goal for the season is to raise at least $500 to help fight cancer.
