Newark City Schools

Every Month, Newark City Schools honors 30 students in grades 4 through 12 from across the district as Citizens of the Month, for their leadership and actions inside and outside of the classroom. Students and their families are invited to a lunch in their honor to celebrate their achievements. The April 2024 Citizen of the Month luncheon was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Newark, Ohio. It's time to register for our 2024 summer camps. Please click each link below for more information. All registrations can be filled out online except for Guitar Camp, which must be turned into your child's school. All grades listed as a student's grade entering next fall. 

Camps:

If you have an incoming kindergarten student this fall, you can now register them for Newark City Schools' annual Kindergarten Readiness Academy. The program begins July 8 and lasts for 4 weeks, 4 days a week. Please click here to register and click here for a flyer with more information. If you haven't yet registered your child for kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year, please begin our online registration by clicking here, then choose "New Student Gateway."

In-person assistance with registration will be held the weeks of April 9 and 15, but parents can register their children any time. If you need any assistance, please contact the registration office at 740-670-7008.

Tryouts for Newark middle school and high school cheerleading squads will be held the week of April 29. Clinics will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday. Middle school tryouts will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, and high school tryouts at 4 p.m. on Friday. Please click the following link for more information: Tryouts 2024-2025.
