Newark Cheer Clinic for grades K-6 set for October 13
Newark Cheerleading is hosting a Cheer Clinic for students in kindergarten through 6th grade from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, in the Newark High School gym. The clinic will feature a fun day of learning motions, jumps and cheers with Newark cheerleaders. The cost is $40 per child and includes a T-shirt, pizza, drink and snack. Pre-registration is available by downloading the following form and mailing it in:

Registration is also available the day of the clinic beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please email

Wildcat Football hosts Rumble for the Cure on October 6
Mark your calendars! Our Wildcat football team is asking fans to GO PINK in honor of breast cancer awareness month and help them Rumble for the Cure on Friday, October 6. To help support this important cause, glow-in-the-dark Rumble for the Cure merchandise is for sale, and proceeds will go directly to the Licking County Health Department’s Screening and Survivor Support for breast cancer patients. The entire Newark City Schools District will support this cause and will also GO PINK on Friday, October 6. We encourage all students and staff to wear your Rumble for the Cure shirts or pink to school and the football game! If you want to place an order,

Sponsorship Opportunities for Newark Athletics
The Newark Athletic Department is offering many types of sponsorship opportunities this year. In addition to standard sponsorships in which a business or individual can choose to purchase a one, two, or three season sponsorship, the department has expanded the types of ads available to help promote businesses on the JumboTron screen in the Jim Allen Gymnasium and the brand new scoreboard at White Field. Every month, Newark City Schools honors 30 students in grades 4-12 in a district-wide Citizen of the Month Luncheon. These students were chosen as they displayed acts of leadership, kindness, and service in the classroom and around the school. April’s event took place on was sponsored by the Energy Cooperative. Hillview Elementary’s Ukulele Choir performed for families during the event. Congratulations to all students honored.
