December 2023 Citizens of the Month
Every month, Newark City Schools honors 30 students in grades 4 through 12 from across the district as Citizens of the Month, for their leadership and actions inside and outside of the classroom. Students and their families are invited to a lunch in their honor to celebrate their achievements. The December 2023 Citizen of the Month luncheon was sponsored by Licking Memorial Health Systems. Newark High School's Sinfonia Orchestra performed during the event. Congratulations to all of this month's students.

NCS, Junior Achievement of Central Ohio partner to bring JA BizTown and JA Finance Park to Licking County
Newark City Schools (NCS) and Junior Achievement of Central Ohio (JA) have announced an agreement that will bring JA BizTown and JA Finance Park programs to Newark, benefiting students from NCS and nearby communities. In collaboration with NCS, the Licking Regional Education Service Center (ESC), local volunteers, and donors, JA’s engaging programming will be made available to students in Licking County and surrounding areas at JA's new Learning Center. Junior Achievement's two most popular programs, JA BizTown and JA Finance Park will be provided at the Learning Center, and their K-12 in-class programming will be offered in the surrounding areas.
