Pilot dress code for NHS approved for 24-25 school year
The Newark Board of Education approved a new pilot dress code for Newark High School students during the June 17 board meeting. For the 2024-25 school year, NHS students will not need to wear uniform items — polo shirts and button-up shirts, khakis and black pants are NOT REQUIRED for the upcoming school year.
Please review the new pilot dress code at the following link:
Pilot NHS Dress Code 24-25
A committee of teachers, students, administrators and board members helped to develop the new pilot dress code. More information and specifics will be released soon.

May 2024 Citizens of the Month
Every Month, Newark City Schools honors 30 students in grades 4 through 12 from across the district as Citizens of the Month, for their leadership and actions inside and outside of the classroom. Students and their families are invited to a lunch in their honor to celebrate their achievements. The May Citizen of the Month luncheon was sponsored by Marathon. High school musicians from the band and orchestra programs each performed: a saxophone quartet, a horn and flute duet, and a viola quartet.
You can view a Facebook photo album by clicking this link.
