Summer is coming soon. You may be thinking about what your child will do for meals while school is out. The good news is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has partnered in your local community and agencies to serve free meals.  It’s food that’s in, while school is out.  There are no income requirements, and any child under the age of 18 is invited to eat. NHS senior Andrew Saladino receives Ohio ESC award

Newark High School senior Andrew Saladino received a 2019 Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award from the Ohio Educational Service Center Association recently. The program, named in honor of Ohio's 31st State Superintendent, was established in 1989 to promote and recognize outstanding student leaders for their academic achievement and service to their schools and communities. One senior from each county is eligible for the award. Andrew is one of 84 students statewide to receive it this year. More +

Summer school 2019 registrations now open

With the end of the school year nearing, it’s time to start thinking about summer school if you are in middle or high school. The first section of summer school will be held from June 10 through June 28; the second session will be from July 1 through July 19. Middle school summer school is only offered during the second session. The cost for one semester is $153, and for both semesters is $204, for district residents. The cost for out-of-district students is $230 for one semester and $300 for both. Find the applications with more information below. More +
