Register now for 2018 STEM Camp

Newark City Schools will be having a weeklong free STEM Camp for NCS entering grades 3-12 from June 18-22 at Newark High School. At this camp, students will have the opportunity to explore Coding (using Scratch to build a game), Robotics (coding robots to investigate and solve tasks), Architecture (using Sketch Up to design and build) or Biomedical Engineering (using 3D printing to solve problems and improve lives). Registration forms are available at all NCS buildings and are due back to your principal by May 18. Every month, Newark City Schools honors 28 students in grades 4 through 12 in each of our buildings as Citizens of the Month. Students are chosen not only for their work inside the classroom, but also their leadership outside the classroom. Thank you to the Wilson Middle School Band for performing during the lunch. April PACE Parenting Workshops

Are you trying to find ways to get your child to obey? Do you feel frustrated and unsure of how to handle problem behavior? Newark City Schools' Keeping PACE Program is hosting two workshops geared toward helping parents in these areas. The Preventing Power Struggles workshop will be on Tues., April 10. A Dealing with Disobedience Discussion Group will be on Tues., April 24. Each session is from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Roosevelt Building, 621 Mount Vernon Road. Every month, Newark City Schools honors 28 students in grades 4 through 12 in each of our buildings as Citizens of the Month. Students are chosen not only for their work inside the classroom, but also their leadership outside the classroom. This month's luncheon was sponsored by the Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service. Thank you to the Liberty Middle School Stage Band for performing improv during the lunch. Newark City Schools Partner with Life-Saving Public Preparedness Program to Equip Educators

The Newark City School District announced an official partnership with citizenAID North America (citizenAID). This partnership will provide the system nearly 300 of citizenAID’s Public Treatment Kits and an additional 600 Educators, School Administrators and Coaches (ESAC) online courses to be distributed throughout the district.  The partnership was profiled on ABC 6 recently, which can be viewed at this link.
