January 2018 Citizens of the Month

Every month, Newark City Schools honors 28 students in grades 4 through 12 in each of our buildings as Citizens of the Month. Students are chosen not only for their work inside the classroom, but also their leadership outside the classroom. This month's luncheon was sponsored by the Newark Kiwanis Club. Every month, Newark City Schools honors 28 students from across the district in grades 4-12 as Citizens of the Month, for their performance inside and outside of the classroom.

This month's lunch was sponsored by Newark Rotary. Members of the Newark High School Jazz Ensemble performed for the students and their families.

STEM Camp 2017 set for June 19-23

The Newark City School District is offering its second annual, free weeklong STEM Camp from June 19 through 23 this summer. Last year's camp allowed students to explore coding, circuits, 3D printing, robotics and more. The camp is for students who have completed grades 3 through 8. Open enrollment window for the 2017-18 school year now open

Open enrollment window for the 2017-18 school year now open

Parents who are interested in open enrolling their child in the Newark City School district for the 2017-18 school year can now do so. This includes students who want to transfer between Newark schools, or students who live outside the NCS attendance area who want to go to a Newark school.
